We’ll cut to the chase. Here are a few suggestions to find your lost bird:
- Make flyers: go to http://www.goodbirdinc.com/help-lostbirdflyers.html to find flyers templates – Make sure to inform where your bird was last seen.
- Send the flyer to all veterinary clinics in your area.
- Post your flyers at intersections near where the bird was lost and in surrounding areas.
- List your bird at 911parrotalert.com . This is a website that posts lost parrots and parrots that are found.
- Post your flyer or something similar to your flyer on craigslist.com.
- Contact your nearest parrot rescue.
We understand this could be a very stressful and horrible situation. The more information you are able to post to allow others to be aware of your lost parrot, the higher the chances of finding it.

Clip their wings.
I would rather have my birds wings trimmed than to loose her.
They can also be killed by wild birds, such as hawks.
Put your lost bird’s cage outside with food and water and the door open.
My Quaker parrot, Wally, flew out my door on my deck when I carelessly opened it not paying attention to where he and our other Quaker Katie were sitting. He was gone in an instant. I was of course hysterical .I went outside and walked in the direction that I thought he was headed.
I called my husband and he headed back to our house to continue the search.
We were fortunate to have Katie. We put her in our car carrier and walked around our property. It only talk a few minutes for her to call to Wally. He called back immediately. I walked in that direction and there he was sitting on a low branch in a small tree.
I put out my finger, said up, and he was back with us safe and sound. Katie was our hero. If you are lucky enough to have a second bird, try this first
