My blue fronted amazon gives it 5 stars. Im so glad she loves it and is satisfied after eating. Its easy to make and i froze some.
My bird Zeus is a picky eater. She likes only one brand of crunchies, as far as nuts she'll eat peanuts, not really almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts. She loves sunflower seeds (she's 35 years old and grew up on striped sunflower seeds because there were no Facebook African Grey groups in 1990 so I didn't know better)but doesn't get many of those anymore, for obvious reasons and she loves chicken, pizza crust, and uncooked pasta. So, I wanted to give her a healthy option. Boy am I glad I gave this a shot! I make these, one portion at a time using the Halcyon tea as the liquid. First of all, she dives into the tea separate of the food and she drinks from it like it's my coffee mug (no shade, remember she's 35 years old and I've had her since she's 9 weeks old). But the food, she eats most of what I make for her with very little left over.
I will be making this a significant portion of her food, and keep the bowl of crunchies in her cage for grazing, with only the occasional peanut ot dried fruit.
